Jamie Oldham

I returned to art full time recently after a bit of a detour. I grew up in Cumbria, studied Art in Bath, exhibited mainly in London, and the North, then decided in spring 2020 to focus on art full time from my home in Teddington.

I love painting from nature, both figurative and semi-abstract mainly in acrylics but also oil, gouache, pastel and multimedia. At the moment I’m concentrating on British birds - I love each bird's character and try to convey that through paint.

My motivation to paint is to reflect the beauty of nature, from the grandeur of landscapes to small-scale botanical studies. Through these images I hope you will discover the power nature has to bring a profound sense of rest and peace to our busy and anxious lives.
