Richard Hooke

I graduated from painting greetings cards for my children and friends when joining Antonia Black's Watercolour Workshop in the early 1980s. A Slade School of Fine Art graduate, she provided the drive and inspiration to a small group of artists working mainly en plein air in Richmond Park or by the Thames at Kingston. We exhibited our work locally and I sold my first painting.

I now work mainly in oils and, since 2009, have exhibited and sold my work at The Mulberry Tree Gallery in Swanage and, during the Purbeck Arts Weeks (“PAW”) Festival, in my studio and other locations in Purbeck. I joined the Molesey Art Society last year, stimulated by the terrific work of its members and by the opportunity to capture images along the banks of the Thames, from Richmond and Kingston to Hampton Court, Sunbury Lock and Walton.

If you’d like more details about my paintings, including sizes, framing and prices, please look at my website and its link to the Mulberry Tree Gallery. We can ship artwork to you in most parts of the UK and abroad.
