From an early age I’ve been interested in drawing and painting. It played a massive part in the jobs I’ve done. Trained as a cartographer with the civil service, then with Shell and finally with the BBC in one form of graphics or the other. Largely self taught in watercolour - my comfort zone - I constantly explore other media to cover a growing range of subjects. I also enjoy cartooning, particularly caricatures, producing cards for birthdays etc. I have been a member of Molesey Art Society for many years and was made a Fellow a couple of years ago, an award I’m extremely proud of. Recently I stood down as artist in residence at Brooklands, but still have regular contact there. Rarely without a pencil and pad to capture that one scene/incident. Always learning. Now retired I can push those boundaries that little bit further.
