Shirley Lucas

I am a self taught artist who was introduced to MAS by a neighbour at least twenty years ago.  I always attended MAS exhibitions and bought paintings and pottery but I knew that one day when I had more time I would start to do some painting myself.  Five years ago my husband bought me some watercolours and brushes for Xmas and my sons bought me paper and a book on botanical art and I was smitten. I have a garden that I have filled with my favourite plants and shrubs - so I always have something to paint. I have recently been trying my hand at acrylics ( Cobblers Cove) after watching many good demonstrations at MAS from professional artists who have always been encouraging.
